Hello lovelies and happy Wednesday! I hope you all are having a nice week so far!
WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and each week you answer the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you plan on reading next?
Right now I’m currently reading Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer by Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth.
Having lived most of my life in Washington and having gone to the same university that Bundy attended in the 70s, it’s hard not to talk about him if you’re interested in true crime. Last year I read The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule, who worked with Bundy at a crisis line in Seattle and that was pretty unnerving and interesting. I’m only about 25% through this right now but it’s very interesting and creepy since most of the book is directly from Bundy’s recorded conversations with the authors. It’s Bundy in his own words and it’s very unsettling. If you like true crime though you should definitely pick this one up!
Over the weekend I recently finished reading Green River, Running Red by Ann Rule which covers The Green River Killer who terrorized King County for more than 20 years before he was caught.
Again having lived in Washington and in the Seattle area this was an interesting and unsettling read. Rule does a great job of covering the hunt for GRK and also shows a great deal of respect for his victims and their families. This took me forever to get through but that’s mostly because I’m a mood reader and didn’t often feel like reading true crime. It’s long, over 600 pages depending on which edition you have, but it’s very well written and worth the read.
Last week I talked about how my next book would be The Court of Miracles by Kester Grant and that’s still the case this week. Reading has just been really hard this month so I’m extremely behind on my NetGalley arcs but I’m doing my best to get back on track!
